The Sandia Matador Marching Band participated in three marching competitions for the 2009-2010 school year. The students, director and technicians have dedicated hours and hours to zero hour rehearsals, field rehearsals, sectionals and football game performances to refine and fine tune their show for the 2009-2010 season entitled "Mirage"
They took part in the Pageant of the Bands Competition on October 10th at Wilson Stadium. The students earned Third place in the AAAA category. They also received Best Percussion and the People's Choice Award in AAAA category
They continued the season with the UNM Zia Marching Fiesta on October 17th at UNM Football Stadium. They placed 15th competing with 33 other marching bands.
They continued on to finalize the season in Flagstaff, Arizona at NAU Band Day. The band received a Superior rating with Outstanding awards in General Effect, Musical Effect, Visual Effect and Outstanding Percussion
